Arrival

Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

Day 2: Lake Manyara Area to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, you will be driven to towards the beautiful crater highlands through farms of wheat, corn & coffee. At midday you will find youself on the plains of the world famous Serengeti National Park. This is your opportunity to take in the spectacular -almost endless – plains of the Serengeti which is made up of short grassy plains, Savannah, Thick Bush, Swamps & lakes. It is also the home of the Great Wildebeest Migration. In the early evening you will arrive at your accommodation for the night.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park

The whole day of day 3 will be spent in the Serengeti National Park. During the short rainy season in November and December the herds move from the hills in the north to the plains in the south while during the longer rainy season from April to June they return back up north. This circle of life is determined by the rainfalls and locations of the herds might vary from year to year but your guide will know where to find the animals and where to see them best. A visit to the Serengeti Visitor Centre is also possible. Here you can learn more about the history of the park and the research that is being done by the Frankfurter Zoological Society.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Shortly after your morning meal, you will continue your Safari in the Serengeti and through the Seronera Valley. After a spot of lunch at a picnic spot you will head towards the Ngorongoro Crater. As soon as you have reached the crater you will have a superb view of the caldera.  In the evening your accommodation sits on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater; here you can sit back with a cocktail and enjoy the sublime African sunset over the crater plains.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

 After having an early breakfast you will be driven down the steep path into the crater itself. In addition to zebras and wildebeests, you might also spot the rare black rhino and other members of the “Big Five”. The crater is also home to other animals such as hyenas, waterbucks, bushbucks, eland and more than 500 bird species. After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch you will leave the caldera in the early afternoon and drive back to Arusha, where you will arrive in the early evening. From here you can be transferred to the Airport to go home, or an extended trip for a Dar Es Salaam or Zanzibar Beach Holiday.
