About Us

Planning a safari in Tanzania can feel overwhelming.

There are three main reasons why a Safari adventure feels unattainable:

1. Planning can be overwhelming and complex.
2. Travelling so far to a country very different from home is daunting.
3. Safari can become extremely expensive.

There’s so much to see, so many moving parts, and unknowns, which often means potential visitors turn away from visiting at all (and, for some, leads to disappointing experiences).

That’s why we founded Tanzania Safari Club in 2018: to slowly bridge the gap between this extraordinary country and the rest of the world. We have insider knowledge, years of experience and Tanzanian connections; therefore, our Edinburgh-based team is uniquely placed to design and advise on Safari holiday experiences that bring you closer to Tanzania’s wildlife, people, and culture.

We’re able to carefully build extraordinary itineraries that get you closer to the heart of Tanzania, and see the country like few can, while being able to offer competitive prices.

Whether you’re travelling from the UK, Europe, or the US, our purpose is simple: to help you SEE Tanzania as few ever do - and return home with memories you’ll want to SHARE forever.

Our Story

Our story began almost a decade ago-and, in many ways, it’s a love story.

The first is between Bonita, from Dar es Salaam, and Ian, from Edinburgh, who met in Scotland.

When life took us to opposite sides of the world, Ian travelled to Tanzania to visit Bonita. That trip became the first of many life-changing adventures. He fell in love with the country’s warmth: the people who welcomed him like family, the richness of its culture and history, the rhythm of bongo-flava music at sunset (taste of Kilimanjaro Beer too!).

Over time, we realised our story reflects a much bigger one-the enduring connection between Tanzania and the UK. Like generations before us, we’ve built bridges between cultures, finding beauty in what we share.
The Tanzania Safari Club was born from that passion: to invite others to see this extraordinary country as we do, to create unforgettable memories, and to ensure Tanzania is celebrated, supported, and seen by the world.

Our Values & Mission

As a company, we have a purpose larger than we are, and it can be explained in one word: KUONA.

In Kiswahili, kuona means to see.

Our purpose is to increase Tanzania’s visibility and reputation as a place of beauty, cultural depth, and wonder, worth returning to year after year.

We not only help travellers see Tanzania’s wildlife, landscapes, and cultures with their own eyes, and hope visitors to carry those experiences home, to share them.

Through countless unforgettable journeys, we aim to support local Tanzanian communities, fund schools and education, and preserve and celebrate the country’s unique heritage and culture.

We have three aims:

Kutembelea - to visit

We work every day to promote and encourage people to visit Tanzania – and truly see it with their own eyes. Tourism is more than a holiday here; it creates jobs, fosters opportunity, and builds national pride.

By coming, you’ll experience the real Tanzania – beyond headlines and stereotypes. And here’s the truth: everyone who visits leaves with a piece of this country in their heart.

Kushiriki - To Share

We create experiences you can’t help but share. When travellers return home inspired-posting their photos, telling their stories, and celebrating Tanzanian culture – they become ambassadors for our extraordinary country.

Every shared memory spreads awareness, invites others to visit, and helps Tanzania take its place on the world stage.

Kufundisha - To Teach

Teaching is at the heart of Tanzanian culture. Julius Nyerere, first president and a teacher himself, believed that leaving the country to learn, then returning to share knowledge, would uplift the everybody in the Tanzanian community.

We are proud to support that legacy. By promoting Tanzania, and using our profits to fund education and skills development, we help create opportunities for the next generations. Our dream is to see Tanzanians gaining knowledge here and abroad, then returning to inspire, teach, and build stronger communities for the future.
And for people around the world, to visit Tanzania, and take what they have learned home.

Be part of Tanzania’s story. Witness the Big Five with your own eyes, sleep beneath the blanket of swirling Serengei stars, or sink your toes into Zanzibar’s warm healing sands.
We’ll handle the details: you create the memories.
